Summer Tips: Time Management

I always get a little anxious when change is coming.  I wasn't ready for school to start last year and missed the kids the first few days.  Now I'm worried about how I will still get work done when the kids are home.  Enter time management and planning mode.

Yesterday I worked on our summer schedule.  I plan what our days will look like Monday through Friday.  This way we are all on the same page and we all know what to expect.  Kids thrive on routine and boundaries.  Honestly so do I most of the time.

I have them each create a checklist based on our schedules so they can keep track of their day and what needs done.  This helps them to be a self manager and build their work ethic.

For myself I write down my big three.  What are the top 3 things I need to get done for the day? I then break them down into tasks that need to be completed.  This gives me such a sense of accomplishment and positive energy. A lot of times I still have energy after my top 3 are done and can get even more done.

What are your tips for time management?  I would love to hear them.

Blessings,
Angie
